2007 Cotom's Choice Pipes

**2008 Pipes Now Available**

Inspired by what he saw during his first trip to Turkey in 2007, our own Tom Cottom (aka MixMaster Tom) decided on the spot to challenge our artists and craftsmen in Eskisehir, Turkey to create a limited edition pipe that could into a daily smoker for those few lucky enough to acquire one. For the year 2007, this amounts to 50 pipes in total; once they are gone, there will be no more for this year.

Reminiscent of the Dunhill 197, this new pipe will feature the highest quality meerschaum carved into a billiard shaped bowl with a short shank. The longer, straight black stem will be separated from the shank by a 10mm, 10 carat gold-plated band. While the majority of these pipes will have a marble-smooth finish, every 5^th pipe in the series will be rusticated for those who prefer a rougher feel in their hands. And rest assured, the rusticated versions are not being made this way to hide flaws in the stone, but merely to provide you with an option.

Another of Tom’s requirements is that the price of be kept low to make it more available to our loyal customers. By working with suppliers and limiting distribution to Tobacco Barn retail and online customers, we’ve succeed in offering this pipe at the outstanding price of $109.95!

Also, to celebrate the arrival of these pipes, we announced a contest associated with the release of these pipes. The challenge, to all who wish to participate, was to take their newly purchased Cottom’s Choice pipe and smoke it as much as possible before the end of 2007. On December 30, 2007, we held judging in our retail store to see who has colored their pipe (by smoking only, no artificial coloring techniques allowed) the best in that period of time will win a brand new Cottom’s Choice pipe. The winner could choose from either Serial# 49/50 or #50/50 depending on whether they want a smooth or rusticated finish. All judging will be done by none other than Tom Cottom himself.
