This estate Calabash Pipe is made from genuine African Gourd and, for a calabash, has a relatively large bowl (in terms of depth). The meerschaum bowl is easily removed and the cork lining is in great shape, maintaining a good seal. The bowl does have a number of nicks/dents in it but nothing that would ruin the integrity or smoke-ability of the bowl.
Minimal teeth marks on the stem but the vulcanite stem could use a good polish to get rid of some of the oxidation.
A really nice, deeply bent pipe at a great price. Ideal if you've been having a hard time finding a real Gourd Calabash. "Mixmaster" Tom thinks this is a Pioneer pipe that dates back to the late 70s, early 80s but there is nothing to prove this one way or the other. He could be pulling all of our respective legs and we wouldn't know any better ;).
