Creating the Decadas, considered to be the finest Dominican Partagas available, is no simple task. The wrapper leaf used to coat this handsome super premium is a dark, 10-year old Cameroon leaf from 1997 - bales of leaves are sorted time and time again to choose the finest leaf. In the end, only about 3 in every 1,000 were used. Separated, and stored in Spanish cedar rooms, these choice leaves undergo a prolonged aging process right next to the long-leaf fillers - a fine blend of Dominican and Nicaraguan tobaccos, bound by Partagas’ highly praised San Agustin leaf from Honduras. The result is a glorious one, complete with layers of relaxing, rich flavors that build towards a robust, eventful finish. A mild to medium-bodied treat for the senses.
