The Criollo seed is rich in the history of cigar making. Originating in Cuba, Criollo simply means native seed.
Throughout Cuban cigar making, every spliced or hybrid seed maintained a base of the rich and sweet Criollo. Variations of the seed were continually developed in order to combat diseases such as blue mold. Often, flavor was sacrificed as a result.
Finally, a winning combination has been foudn that is immune to disease and is true to the flavor of the original Cuban seed. When CAO discovered the gorgeous wrapper of Crillo '98, they fell in love with it.
To produce a truly outstanding cigar, CAO complimented the Criollo wrapper, grown in Nicaragua, with the finest Cuban seed Nicaraguan tobaccos under the hightest quality standards of the Ozgener family.
The CAO Criollo is a marriage of Cuba and Nicaragua, with a flavor reminiscent of a bygone era and representing the beginning of a new one.
